Possible Causes
Weak SMPS output capacitor, Loose display connector, Failing LED/LCD display module, Overloaded low‑voltage rail on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before opening the control area.
- Check mains stability: Avoid sharing the outlet with heavy appliances that cause voltage dips.
- Inspect display connector: Remove the front panel and ensure the display module connector is firmly seated on the PCB.
- Examine capacitors: On the main PCB, look for bulging or leaking electrolytic capacitors in the low‑voltage section. Replace the PCB if defective.
- Replace display module: If the supply is stable but the display remains dim, replace the LED/LCD display module specific to your Severin model.
Warning: Do not short test points on the PCB; this can damage the microcontroller.
