Possible Causes
Cracked touch glass or plastic overlay, Loose ribbon cable to touch PCB, Contaminants or moisture on touch sensors, Failed touch controller IC on control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe the touch area with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect for cracks: Look closely for hairline cracks in the front panel where the touch icons are printed. Cracks can disrupt capacitive sensing; the panel may need replacement.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel to access the touch PCB. Ensure the ribbon cable is fully seated and locked into the connector on both the touch PCB and main PCB.
- Test specific keys: If only some buttons fail, the touch PCB matrix may be damaged. Replace the touch control PCB assembly.
Warning: Do not spray cleaner directly onto the control panel; liquid can seep inside and damage electronics.
