Air fryer stops heating and displays E2 during preheat or cooking.

Safety first: Disconnect the Severin air fryer from power and let it cool fully before inspection.

• Reset and dry: Unplug for 10 minutes. If the unit was recently cleaned with excessive water or steam, allow it to dry for several hours and try again; moisture can temporarily short the sensor.
• Inspect sensor wiring: Remove the housing and locate the NTC sensor near the heating element. Check for melted or pinched wires where they pass through metal brackets or the rear panel. Separate any wires that are touching bare metal and re‑insulate with high‑temperature sleeving.
• Check connector for moisture: Disconnect the sensor plug from the PCB and inspect for condensation or corrosion. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely before reconnecting.
• Measure sensor resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across its leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor; replace the sensor assembly.
• Evaluate control PCB: If the sensor measures correctly but E2 persists, the sensor input circuit on the control PCB may be shorted. Replace the main control PCB if visual inspection shows damage or if testing confirms a board fault.

Warning: Do not operate the air fryer with a bypassed or shorted sensor; this can cause overheating and fire risk.
