How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the outlet is working by testing with another appliance. Unplug the air fryer before opening the housing.
Steps to diagnose no-power condition:
- Check outlet and breaker: Confirm the wall socket has power and that the circuit breaker or RCD has not tripped.
- Inspect power cord: Examine the SilverCrest mains cord for damage. If the cord is detachable, test with a known-good compatible cord.
- Open the unit: Remove the outer cover to access the main control PCB. Locate the internal fuse (often a glass or ceramic fuse near the mains input).
- Test the fuse: Use a multimeter to check continuity. Replace with the same rating (amperage and slow/fast-blow type) if blown.
- Inspect power supply components: Look for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or bulging capacitors on the power section of the PCB.
- Board replacement: If the fuse blows again immediately or the board shows visible damage, replace the entire main control PCB / power module.
Warning: Do not bypass the internal fuse with wire or foil. This removes critical protection and can cause fire or electric shock.
