Air fryer trips the household circuit breaker or RCD when plugged in or when heating starts.

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset the breaker without finding the cause. Unplug the air fryer and keep it disconnected until inspected.

Steps to diagnose tripping:

• Check cord and plug: Inspect the mains cord and plug for cuts, burns, or loose pins. Replace if damaged.
• Dry the unit: If the air fryer was recently washed or exposed to moisture, allow it to dry for 24–48 hours in a warm, dry place before retesting.
• Inspect internal wiring: Open the housing and look for wires pinched between panels or touching metal parts. Correct routing and replace damaged insulation.
• Check heating element: Inspect the heating element for cracks or contact with the metal chassis. A grounded element can trip RCDs.
• Board inspection: Examine the main control PCB for burnt components or carbon tracking that could cause shorts.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the heating element or main PCB if they are the source of the short.
