Display shows E4 and the air fryer will not start or stops shortly after starting.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the switch or internal wiring.

Steps to fix E4:

• Check basket insertion: Remove the basket and drawer completely and reinsert firmly until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no food debris is blocking the rails or latch.
• Inspect the drawer latch: Look at the plastic tab or protrusion on the drawer that engages the internal microswitch. If it is cracked or worn down, the switch may not be fully pressed.
• Test the microswitch: With the unit unplugged, remove the housing panel near the front to access the basket detection microswitch. Manually press the switch; you should hear a distinct click. Check for loose mounting screws.
• Electrical test: Use a multimeter to test continuity across the switch terminals while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace the switch if it does not open and close reliably.
• Repair or replace parts: Replace a damaged basket microswitch or a broken drawer latch assembly. Ensure wiring connectors are fully seated and not heat-damaged.

Warning: Never bypass the basket safety switch by shorting wires; this can allow the heater to run with the drawer open, creating a burn and fire hazard.
