Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool. Internal heater components can remain hot for some time.
Steps to address E5:
- Visual inspection: Remove the top or rear cover to access the heating element assembly. Look for burnt wires, discolored terminals, or broken element coils.
- Check connections: Ensure all spade connectors on the heating element and thermal fuse are tight. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Continuity test of heater: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heating element terminals. A typical value is between 10–40Ω depending on wattage. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- Inspect the relay: On the main control PCB, locate the heater relay. Look for burn marks or a melted case. If the relay is visibly damaged or you hear no click when starting a cycle (with the unit assembled and powered), the relay may be faulty.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace a failed heating element or damaged wiring with OEM-rated parts. If the relay is defective, the entire main control PCB is usually replaced as a unit.
Warning: Do not attempt to repair a cracked or broken heating element coil. Always replace the complete element assembly.
