Safety: Ensure the unit is unplugged before any inspection. Do not attempt live testing unless you are trained and equipped.

Steps:

• 1. Verify outlet: Test the wall outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped circuit breakers or GFCI outlets.
• 2. Check power cord: Inspect the Sunbeam cord for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. If damaged, the cord must be replaced by a qualified technician.
• 3. Access internal fuse: Remove the base cover to expose the main control PCB. Look for a small glass or ceramic fuse near the power input.
• 4. Test fuse: With a multimeter, check continuity across the fuse. If open, replace it with the exact same type and rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper fault (shorted component) that needs professional diagnosis.
• 5. Inspect wiring: Confirm that all spade connectors and screw terminals from the cord to the PCB are tight and not discolored.
• 6. PCB evaluation: If the fuse and wiring are good but the unit remains dead, the main control PCB power supply is likely failed and the board should be replaced.

Warning: Repeated fuse failure indicates a serious internal short. Do not keep replacing fuses without finding the root cause.
