Possible Causes

Temperature sensor wires shorted together, Moisture or oil contamination on sensor connector, Sensor insulation melted against heater, Failed main control PCB reading sensor as short

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Disconnect the air fryer from mains power and allow it to cool fully before disassembly. Internal components can remain hot for 30+ minutes after use.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • 1. Hard reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test. If E2 returns immediately, proceed to inspection.
  • 2. Open the base: Remove the basket and drawer. Place the unit upside down and remove the base screws to access the wiring and heater area.
  • 3. Inspect sensor routing: Locate the NTC sensor near the heating element. Check if its wires are touching bare metal, melted, or fused together. Separate any stuck wires and look for exposed copper.
  • 4. Clean the connector: If there is oil, grease, or moisture on the sensor plug or PCB socket, clean gently with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Do not use water inside the unit.
  • 5. Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads. A reading near 0Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor assembly if shorted.
  • 6. Check the PCB: If the sensor measures normally but E2 persists, inspect the main control PCB for burn marks or corrosion around the sensor input. A damaged board will require replacement.

Do not bypass: Never bypass or short the temperature sensor to force the unit to run; this can cause overheating and fire risk.
