Possible Causes

Misaligned basket not fully inserted, Broken basket detection microswitch, Bent switch actuator lever, Loose switch wiring to control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before any mechanical adjustment.

Steps:

  • 1. Reseat basket: Remove the basket and drawer completely, then firmly reinsert them until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no food or foil is trapped on the drawer rails.
  • 2. Inspect latch area: Look at the front edge and underside of the cavity where the drawer slides in. Identify the plastic tab or protrusion that actuates the internal microswitch.
  • 3. Check for damage: If the plastic actuator on the drawer is cracked or worn, it may not press the switch fully. Replace the drawer/basket assembly if the actuator is damaged.
  • 4. Access the switch: Remove the base cover and, if needed, side screws to reach the front latch area. Locate the small microswitch connected by two or three wires.
  • 5. Test the switch: Press the switch lever by hand; you should hear a distinct click. With a multimeter, test continuity while pressing and releasing. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
  • 6. Secure wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected and not broken or pinched.

Reminder: Never bypass the basket safety switch; it prevents operation with the drawer removed and reduces burn risk.
