Possible Causes

Damaged touch membrane, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Failed user interface PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the air fryer before working near the control panel.

Steps:

  • 1. Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, leave the unit unplugged for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate. Do not use the unit if liquid has seeped inside.
  • 2. Inspect for cracks: Check the front control panel for cracks or warping that could allow moisture into the touch sensors.
  • 3. Access keypad connections: Remove the screws securing the top or front housing to expose the user interface PCB. Locate the ribbon cable from the touch panel.
  • 4. Reseat cable: Gently disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked in place.
  • 5. Test buttons: Reassemble loosely and plug in. Test each button or touch area. If some keys remain unresponsive and E9 persists, the touch panel or UI PCB will need replacement.

Tip: When cleaning, spray cleaner onto a cloth, not directly onto the control panel, to prevent future moisture damage.
