Check for debris: Remove the basket and look up at the fan through the guard. Use a flashlight to spot any loose food, foil, or plastic. Remove debris with long tweezers.
Access fan assembly: Remove the top cover to expose the fan and motor. Inspect the fan blades for cracks or warping.
Tighten fan nut: If the fan is mounted with a central nut, ensure it is snug on the motor shaft. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping threads.
Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. Roughness or side‑to‑side play indicates worn bearings; replace the fan motor assembly.

Operating with a noisy or unbalanced fan can lead to further damage and overheating; replace damaged components promptly.
