• Check the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat for signs of heat damage.
• Verify the fan spins at full speed; a slow fan can cause overheating.
• If the unit only fails when hot and recovers when cool, suspect a marginal thermal device or control board component. Replacement of the thermal fuse/thermostat or main control board may be required.
