Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool. The fan area may be hot.
Check fan operation:
- Remove the basket and look up at the fan through the top screen. Try to spin the fan blades gently with a wooden stick (with power disconnected). The fan should spin freely.
- If the fan is stiff or jammed, inspect for food debris, warped plastic, or grease buildup around the blades.
Internal access:
- Remove the top cover to access the convection fan motor and blades.
- Clean off heavy grease and debris from the fan and surrounding shroud.
- Check the motor wiring connector; reseat it firmly on the control board.
- Test the motor windings with a multimeter for continuity. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- If the motor is seized or electrically open, replace the T-fal convection fan motor assembly. Transfer the fan blade to the new motor if it is a separate part.
Do not operate the air fryer with a non-functioning fan; this can cause overheating and damage to the heater and internal components.
