Possible Causes
Broken lid hinge sensor, Misaligned lid latch, Failed lid reed switch or microswitch, Damaged lid sensor magnet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before adjusting hinges or switches.
Checks:
- Open and close the lid several times, ensuring it latches securely. Listen for a click from the lid switch area.
- Inspect the lid hinges for cracks or misalignment that prevent full closure.
- On models with a magnet-based sensor, verify the magnet is still embedded in the lid and aligned with the reed switch in the body.
Repair steps:
- Access the lid switch by removing the top cover or inner trim.
- Test the lid microswitch or reed switch with a multimeter for proper operation when the lid is closed.
- Replace the faulty switch or magnet as needed with a compatible T-fal lid switch assembly.
- Adjust the latch or hinge screws to ensure the lid closes firmly and actuates the switch.
Do not force the lid closed; this can break the hinge or latch components.
