Possible Causes

Blown thermal fuse on heater assembly, Overheated heating chamber due to blocked airflow, Failed high-limit thermostat, Shorted heating element causing overcurrent trip

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not attempt to run it again until inspected. Risk of fire if overheat protection is bypassed.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer is used on a hard, flat surface with at least 10 cm clearance around all sides and top. Remove any plastic bags or objects blocking vents.
  • Clean the air path:
    • Remove basket and pan.
    • Clean grease and food debris from the bottom of the cooking chamber and around the air outlet using a soft brush and mild detergent (no water on electrical parts).
  • Internal safety devices (advanced):
    • Access the heater assembly by removing the top cover.
    • Locate the thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat clipped to the heater housing.
    • Check for continuity with a multimeter. An open reading indicates the device has tripped and must be replaced; it is not resettable.
  • Replace, do not bypass: Install a thermal fuse or thermostat with the same temperature and current rating. Never bypass or short these safety components.
  • Investigate root cause: If the fuse blew, inspect the fan and vents for blockage and verify the heater is not warped or touching plastic parts.
