Air fryer beeps and shows E4 shortly after starting, sometimes accompanied by a burning smell.

  • With the unit unplugged and cooled, remove the top cover.
  • Inspect the heating element for cracks, burn marks, or areas where the coil touches metal frame directly.
  • Check the wiring from the heater to the control board for melted insulation or charring.
• Smell test: If you detect a strong burnt electronics smell from the control board area, the relay or PCB may be damaged and require replacement.
• Do not use if damaged: If any part of the heater or wiring is visibly burnt or deformed, do not power the unit again. Replace the heater assembly and any damaged wiring.
