Air fryer heats but takes much longer than normal to cook food.

Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before cleaning or testing.

• Thorough cleaning: Remove the basket and drawer. Clean the heating element area and fan guard with a soft brush and damp cloth (when cool). Built-up grease can insulate the heater and reduce effective heat output.
• Check mains supply: Avoid using long extension leads or overloaded adapters that can cause voltage drop. Plug directly into a wall socket.
• Test element resistance: Compare the heating element resistance to manufacturer specifications if available. A significantly higher resistance than normal can indicate a weak element.
• Sensor inspection: Ensure the NTC sensor is firmly attached and not covered in thick grease, which can cause incorrect temperature readings. Clean gently if necessary.
• Replace element if needed: If cleaning and power checks do not restore performance and the element tests out of range, replace the heating element assembly.
