Possible Causes

Unseated basket not engaging safety switch, Faulty start/pause button on touch panel, Defective basket microswitch, Firmware lock-up on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting mechanical switches.

  • Confirm basket position: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket and drawer until fully seated. Many Tower models require the drawer to be fully closed to enable the start function.
  • Try different programs: Select a simple manual temperature and time setting, then press start. If some buttons work but start does not, the start key area on the touch panel may be faulty.
  • Power reset: Unplug the air fryer for 10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. This can clear minor firmware glitches.
  • Check basket switch (advanced): Access the front area where the drawer slides in and locate the microswitch. Test it with a multimeter for continuity when the drawer is inserted. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
  • Replace touch panel: If the physical switch is good but the start button area is unresponsive, replace the touch control panel assembly.
