Possible Causes

Cabinet temperature sensor harness unplugged, Broken NTC sensor lead, Damaged wiring between sensor and control PCB, Failed control PCB sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Tower air fryer from the mains and allow it to cool completely before opening any panels. Do not work on a hot appliance.

  • Check for obvious resets: Remove the basket and reinsert it fully. Plug the unit back in and try again. If E1 reappears, continue.
  • Inspect the sensor connector: With the unit unplugged, remove the rear or bottom cover (depending on model). Locate the small wired probe (NTC sensor) clipped near the heating element or inner cavity wall. Ensure its plug is firmly seated on the control PCB.
  • Check the sensor wiring: Look for broken, pinched, or burnt wires leading from the sensor to the PCB. If insulation is melted or a wire is broken, the sensor harness should be replaced.
  • Test the sensor (for advanced users): Using a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the NTC sensor pins. A typical reading is between 50kΩ–200kΩ at room temperature (exact value varies by model). An open (infinite) reading indicates a failed sensor.
  • Reassemble and test: If the connector was loose, reseat it, reassemble the housing, plug the unit in, and test. If E1 persists after checking wiring and sensor, the control PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
