Possible Causes
Misaligned basket not fully inserted, Faulty basket microswitch, Broken actuator tab on drawer, Loose wiring from switch to control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the basket switch or internal wiring.
- Check basket insertion: Remove the basket and drawer completely, then slide them back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Many Tower models will not start unless the drawer is fully seated.
- Inspect the drawer latch: Look at the plastic tabs or lugs on the drawer that press the internal microswitch. If a tab is broken or worn, the switch may not be actuated and the drawer assembly may need replacement.
- Test the microswitch (advanced): With the housing removed, locate the small microswitch near the front where the drawer slides in. Check that its lever is not bent or stuck. Use a multimeter to test continuity when the switch is pressed and released. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Check wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected to the PCB and not damaged.
- Reassemble and test: After adjusting or replacing the switch or drawer parts, reassemble, plug in, and test. If E7 remains, the control PCB input circuit may be faulty and require professional replacement.
