Possible Causes
Weak or partially failed heating element, Loose heater wiring, Faulty NTC sensor reading too high, Control PCB not driving heater correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool before removing covers.
- Check for preheating: Ensure you allow the unit to preheat if your model requires it. Some models show low-temp warnings if food is added too early.
- Inspect heater connections: Remove the cover to access the heating element. Confirm that all connectors are tight and free of corrosion or burn marks.
- Test heating element: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the element. Compare to typical values (10–40Ω). A significantly higher resistance than expected can indicate a weak element that should be replaced.
- Sensor check: Inspect the NTC sensor near the heater for secure mounting and clean contact with the metal surface. A sensor that is loose or displaced can misread temperature.
- Control board suspicion: If the heater and sensor test correctly but the unit still underheats and shows H2, the control PCB may not be supplying full power to the heater and may need replacement.
