Possible Causes
Seized or obstructed convection fan, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector on control PCB, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool. Do not insert fingers near the fan blades.
- Check for fan operation: When you start a cycle (before unplugging), listen for the fan. If you hear no airflow or grinding, a fan issue is likely.
- Inspect for obstructions:
- Remove basket and pan.
- Look up toward the top of the cooking cavity; check if any food debris, parchment paper, or foil is stuck in the fan guard.
- Gently remove any obstruction with long tweezers.
- Access the fan (advanced):
- Remove the back or top cover to expose the fan motor assembly.
- Try spinning the fan blade by hand; it should rotate freely without scraping.
- If stiff or jammed, the motor bearings may be seized and the motor should be replaced.
- Check wiring:
- Inspect the fan motor connector where it plugs into the main control PCB.
- Reseat any loose connectors and check for burnt pins.
- Replace parts: If the fan does not run even with free blades and good connections, replace the fan motor assembly. If a new motor does not resolve E5, the main control PCB fan driver is likely defective.
