Possible Causes

Misaligned basket not engaging microswitch, Failed door/basket microswitch, Broken switch actuator tab on chassis, Loose switch wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the switch area.

  • Check basket insertion:
    • Remove the basket and pan, then reinsert firmly until you hear or feel a click.
    • Ensure no warped accessories or liners are preventing full insertion.
  • Inspect switch actuator:
    • Look at the area where the basket slides in; locate the small plastic tab or lever that presses the internal microswitch.
    • If the tab is broken or bent, the switch will not engage and the housing or basket guide may need replacement.
  • Access the switch (advanced):
    • Remove side or bottom screws to open the housing near the basket slot.
    • Locate the microswitch and check that its lever moves freely.
    • Verify that the wiring connector is firmly attached.
  • Test the switch:
    • With a multimeter, test continuity across the switch terminals while pressing the lever.
    • No change in continuity indicates a failed switch.
  • Replace parts: Replace the door/basket microswitch if defective. If the switch is good but E7 remains, inspect the main control PCB input circuit.
