Possible Causes
Faulty internal power supply on main control PCB, Loose mains cord connection, Damaged power inlet socket, Household outlet voltage drop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before any disassembly. Mains voltage is dangerous.
- Check external power:
- Plug the air fryer directly into a wall outlet (no extension cords or power strips).
- Test a different outlet known to be good.
- Inspect power cord:
- Check the Tristar power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks.
- Gently wiggle the cord at the plug and at the entry to the fryer; if the unit powers off or flickers, the cord or inlet may be faulty.
- Check power inlet (advanced):
- Remove the rear cover to access the power inlet socket and wiring.
- Ensure all spade connectors are tight and not discolored.
- Control board inspection:
- Visually inspect the main control PCB for burnt components in the power supply section (near where the mains wires connect).
- Bulged capacitors or burnt resistors indicate board failure.
- Replace components: Replace a damaged power cord or inlet socket. If the internal power supply on the PCB is faulty, the entire main control board should be replaced.
