Possible Causes

Misaligned basket drawer not engaging switch, Broken microswitch actuator, Failed basket interlock switch, Damaged wiring from switch to main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the switch or wiring.

  • Check basket alignment: Remove and reinsert the basket drawer firmly until it clicks. Ensure no food or foil is preventing full closure. Many Ultima Cosa models require the drawer to fully engage a hidden switch.
  • Inspect switch area: Look at the front side rails and underside of the control panel for the basket interlock switch. Verify that the plastic actuator tab on the drawer is not broken or worn.
  • Test the switch: Access the switch by removing the side or front panel. Disconnect the switch wires and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the switch lever. It should change from open to closed when pressed. If not, the switch is faulty.
  • Replace switch: Install a new Ultima Cosa-compatible basket/door microswitch, transferring any mounting brackets. Ensure the actuator is correctly positioned to be pressed by the drawer.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the switch to the main control PCB for pinched or broken wires. Repair as needed.

If E7 remains after switch replacement and wiring checks, the control board input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
