Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main PCB, Damaged touch panel membrane, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed main control PCB interface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before opening the control panel area.
- Power reset: Leave the unit unplugged for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test. Transient glitches can sometimes clear.
- Inspect control panel: Check for signs of moisture, steam damage, or cracks on the touch surface. If the panel is wet, let it dry completely for 24 hours in a warm, dry area (do not use direct heat).
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the top/control housing screws to access the back of the display. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the main PCB. Reseat both ends carefully, ensuring the locking tabs are engaged.
- Look for corrosion: If the connector pins are corroded, gently clean with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then dry thoroughly.
- Replace touch panel: If specific buttons never respond or the panel is physically damaged, replace the entire touch control panel assembly compatible with your Ultima Cosa model.
If E8 persists with a known-good panel and cable, the main control PCB is likely at fault and should be replaced.
