Possible Causes
Basket drawer removed or not fully inserted, Deformed basket rails not engaging sensor, Faulty basket presence sensor or microswitch, Misaligned front housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is on a stable surface and unplugged before mechanical adjustments.
- Proper insertion: Slide the basket drawer straight in until it is fully seated and you hear or feel a click. Do not slam it.
- Check rails and guides: Inspect the side rails and bottom guides for bends or obstructions that prevent full insertion. Straighten gently if bent.
- Inspect basket tab: Many Ultima Cosa models use a plastic tab on the basket to actuate a hidden switch. Ensure this tab is not broken or worn down.
- Test sensor/switch: Access the basket presence switch and test continuity while manually actuating it. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
After mechanical alignment and switch replacement, P2 should clear when the basket is properly inserted.
