Steps to restore basket locking:

• Clean latch: Inspect the front opening and basket handle latch for crumbs or grease. Clean thoroughly with a brush and damp cloth.
• Check latch hook: Examine the plastic or metal hook on the basket handle that engages the internal catch. If it is cracked or missing, replace the basket assembly.
• Inspect internal catch: With the basket removed, look inside the front opening for the latch catch. Ensure it is not broken or bent out of position.
• Test engagement: Slowly insert the basket and listen for a click. If there is no click and the hook and catch appear intact, the parts may be misaligned; gently adjust the catch position if accessible.

Note: If the latch components are broken, replacement of the basket and/or front housing latch parts is required; do not attempt to operate the fryer with a non-locking basket.
