Possible Causes
Open heating element coil, Burnt heater terminals, Loose heater wiring connector, Failed heater relay on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Ultrean air fryer and let it cool completely before opening the base.
Steps to diagnose no-heat condition:
- Confirm symptom: Set the fryer to a high temperature (e.g., 400°F/200°C) for 5 minutes. If the fan runs but the interior does not get warm, proceed.
- Visual check: Remove the basket and pan and look at the heating element. Check for visible breaks, sagging, or heavy burn marks.
- Access heater terminals: Turn the unit upside down, remove the bottom cover, and locate the heater terminals and wiring.
- Check connections: Ensure the spade connectors are tight and not oxidized. Reseat them if necessary.
- Test the element: With the unit unplugged, disconnect one heater lead and measure resistance across the element. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Relay/board check: If the element tests good, the heater relay on the main control board may not be energizing. Inspect the board for burnt spots; replace the main control board if the relay is defective.
Warning: Do not attempt to repair a broken element coil; replace the entire heating element assembly.
