Air fryer will not start and displays E1 on the control panel.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Ultrean air fryer and let it cool completely before opening any panels. Never work on the unit while it is connected to power.
Steps to check and correct E1:
- Power reset: Unplug the fryer for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in and try again. Sometimes E1 is triggered by a transient fault.
- Access the sensor: Remove the basket and pan. Turn the unit upside down on a soft cloth. Remove the screws securing the bottom cover to access the internal wiring and heater area.
- Locate the NTC sensor: Find the small metal probe or bead-type sensor clipped near the heating element or inner cavity wall. It will usually have two thin wires going to the main PCB.
- Check the connector: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the main control board. Disconnect and reconnect it several times to clean the contacts.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt, pinched, or broken wires between the sensor and the PCB. Repair any damaged wiring with high-temperature-rated wire and proper crimp connectors.
- Test the sensor (if you have a meter): With the fryer unplugged, measure resistance across the sensor leads. A typical NTC will show several kilo-ohms at room temperature. An infinite reading indicates an open sensor that must be replaced.
- Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is open or physically damaged, replace the temperature sensor assembly. If the sensor tests good but E1 persists, the main control board sensor input may be defective and the board should be replaced.
When to stop: If you are not comfortable opening the unit or using a multimeter, stop after the power reset and visual checks and contact a qualified appliance technician.
