Possible Causes

Temperature sensor wires shorted together, Sensor insulation melted against heating element, Moisture or oil contamination on sensor connector, Failed main control board reading sensor as shorted

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the Ultrean air fryer and allow it to cool fully. Do not attempt to run the unit while it is disassembled.

Steps to address E2:

  • Cool-down reset: Let the fryer sit unplugged for at least 20 minutes to ensure the internal temperature is normal. Plug back in and test. If E2 appears immediately, continue.
  • Open the base: Remove the basket and pan. Turn the unit upside down and remove the screws holding the bottom cover. Carefully lift the cover to expose the wiring and heater assembly.
  • Inspect the sensor wiring: Locate the NTC temperature sensor near the heating element. Check if its wires are touching the bare metal of the heater or each other where insulation has melted. Separate and re-insulate any damaged sections with high-temperature heat-shrink or fiberglass sleeving.
  • Clean the connector: Disconnect the sensor plug from the main PCB. Wipe off any oil, moisture, or carbon deposits with a dry cloth or electronics cleaner. Reconnect firmly.
  • Check for pinched wires: Ensure no sensor wires are trapped between metal panels or screw points that could cut through insulation.
  • Component replacement: If the sensor appears burnt, melted, or the insulation is severely damaged, replace the temperature sensor assembly. If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main control board is likely faulty and should be replaced.

Note: Do not bypass or short the sensor to clear the error; this can cause overheating and fire risk.
