Possible Causes

Blocked air vents causing overheating, Failed or stuck relay on main PCB, Faulty temperature sensor reading too high, Fan not running causing heat buildup

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool completely before inspection. Surfaces and internal parts can be extremely hot.

Steps to resolve E3:

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the Ultrean air fryer is placed on a hard, heat-resistant surface with at least 5 inches (12 cm) of clearance around all sides and above. Remove any objects blocking the rear or top exhaust vents.
  • Clean air paths: Remove the basket and pan. Clean out any grease buildup, food debris, or foil that may be obstructing airflow inside the cooking chamber or around the fan guard.
  • Inspect the fan operation: With the unit reassembled, plug it in and start a short cycle while observing from the rear or top vents. You should hear and feel the fan running. If the fan is not running, stop the unit and unplug it.
  • Access the fan: Remove the bottom cover and, if necessary, the rear shroud to access the fan motor and blades. Check for jammed blades, loose screws, or foreign objects preventing rotation. Spin the fan by hand; it should move freely.
  • Check wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is firmly attached to the main PCB and that wires are not burnt or broken.
  • Component replacement: If the fan motor is seized or does not run when powered, replace the fan motor assembly. If the fan runs but E3 persists, the temperature sensor or main control board may be misreading temperature and should be tested and replaced as needed.

Warning: Do not cover vents or operate the fryer inside cabinets; this can repeatedly trigger E3 and damage internal components.
