Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Fan blades obstructed by debris, Loose fan motor connector, Failed fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Ultrean air fryer before opening any covers. Allow it to cool completely.
Steps to address E6:
- Check for airflow: With the unit assembled, plug it in and start a short cycle. Listen for the fan and feel for air at the rear or top vents. If there is no airflow or loud humming, stop and unplug the unit.
- Access the fan: Remove the basket and pan. Depending on the model, remove the inner fan guard or top cover screws to access the fan blades, or remove the bottom cover and rear shroud to reach the fan motor.
- Inspect blades: Look for food pieces, foil, or grease buildup jamming the fan. Carefully clean and remove obstructions. Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding.
- Check wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and that wires are not cut or burnt.
- Motor test: If you have a suitable DC power source (for DC motors), briefly power the motor off the board to see if it runs. If it does not spin or is very weak, replace the fan motor assembly.
- Board diagnosis: If the motor and wiring are good but E6 persists, the fan driver circuit on the main PCB may be defective. Replace the main control board.
Warning: Never run the air fryer with the fan disabled; this can cause overheating and damage.
