Possible Causes

Defective internal power supply on main PCB, Loose AC input wiring, Faulty power cord, Overloaded outlet or low household voltage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting the cord or opening the housing. Do not work on live AC circuits.

Steps to troubleshoot E8:

  • Check outlet: Plug another appliance (like a lamp) into the same outlet to verify proper power. Avoid using extension cords or power strips; plug the Ultrean fryer directly into a wall outlet.
  • Inspect power cord: Examine the cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the power cord assembly rather than attempting to tape or splice it.
  • Check plug fit: Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet. Loose outlets can cause intermittent low voltage.
  • Open base for internal check: With the fryer unplugged, remove the bottom cover. Inspect the AC input terminals, strain relief, and wiring to the main control board for looseness or discoloration.
  • Board inspection: Look for bulging capacitors, burnt resistors, or darkened areas on the main PCB near the power supply section. These indicate a failing board.
  • Component replacement: If external power and cord are good, replace the main control board, which contains the low-voltage power supply.

Warning: Do not attempt to repair the power supply components on the PCB unless you are trained in electronics; replacing the entire board is safer.
