Air fryer stops heating during a cycle and displays E2 on the control panel.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool fully before inspection.

• Step 1 – Reset and clean: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in. Wipe any heavy grease or moisture from the exhaust area and interior roof where the sensor is usually located.
• Step 2 – Access the sensor: Remove the rear or top cover to access the NTC sensor near the heater or exhaust outlet. Inspect the sensor tip for grease buildup or carbonized food that could cause a short.
• Step 3 – Inspect wiring for shorts: Check the sensor harness for crushed or pinched insulation where it passes through metal brackets or the cabinet. Look for bare copper touching metal.
• Step 4 – Test resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads at room temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted.
• Step 5 – Replace components: Install a new cabinet NTC temperature sensor if the original is shorted or contaminated beyond cleaning. If the sensor tests normal but E2 remains, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced by a technician.
