Possible Causes

Blocked air vents causing poor airflow, Failed high-limit thermostat stuck closed, Faulty main control board not cycling heater, Fan motor not running causing localized overheating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Do not touch the heating area while hot.

  • Step 1 – Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer has at least 10 cm (4 in) clearance on all sides and is not pushed against a wall or under low cabinets. Clear any obstructions from rear and side vents.
  • Step 2 – Clean air paths: Remove the basket and drawer. Clean the interior roof, heater guard, and exhaust area of heavy grease and food debris that can trap heat.
  • Step 3 – Verify fan operation: With the unit reassembled, plug it in and start a short cycle. Look and listen for the convection fan running. If the fan does not spin or is very weak, unplug and inspect the fan motor and blades for obstructions or damage.
  • Step 4 – Inspect high-limit thermostat: Access the heater assembly from the top or rear. Locate the small disc-style thermal cutoff / high-limit thermostat mounted near the heating element. Check for signs of overheating or discoloration. Some models use a resettable thermostat with a small button; if present, press gently to reset.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty parts: If the fan motor is seized or noisy, replace the convection fan motor. If the high-limit thermostat is open and non-resettable, replace it with the correct Vida by PADERNO thermostat. If both are good but E3 persists, the main control board may be mis-controlling the heater and should be replaced.

Warning: Do not bypass the high-limit thermostat or thermal fuse; this is a critical safety device.
