Possible Causes
Open heating element, Burned spade connector on heater, Broken heater wiring harness, Failed heater relay on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool. Heating components can retain heat.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Remove the top or rear cover to access the heating element. Look for visible breaks in the element coil, burn marks, or discolored connectors.
- Step 2 – Check heater connections: Ensure the spade terminals on the heating element are tight and not oxidized or burned. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Step 3 – Test heating element: Disconnect at least one heater lead. Measure resistance across the element with a multimeter. Typical values are between 10–40 Ω depending on wattage. If it reads open (infinite resistance), the element is faulty.
- Step 4 – Inspect wiring harness: Follow the heater wires back to the main control board. Look for heat damage, brittle insulation, or loose plugs.
- Step 5 – Replace components: If the element is open or physically damaged, replace the heating element assembly with a compatible Vida by PADERNO part. If the element tests good but no voltage is supplied during a cook cycle, the main control board or its heater relay is likely defective and should be replaced.
Warning: Do not attempt to repair a cracked or broken heating element; always replace the entire assembly.
