Possible Causes

Seized or obstructed fan blades, Worn fan motor bearings, Loose fan motor connector, Failed fan driver circuit on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the fan or internal wiring.

  • Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and drawer. Look up toward the heater/fan assembly. Ensure no food pieces, parchment paper, or foil are stuck in the fan guard.
  • Step 2 – Listen for motor: Plug in and start a short cycle. If the fan hums but does not spin, unplug immediately to avoid overheating.
  • Step 3 – Access fan assembly: Remove the top cover to expose the convection fan motor and blades. Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding.
  • Step 4 – Inspect wiring: Check the fan motor connector at the control board and at the motor. Reseat any loose plugs and inspect for heat damage.
  • Step 5 – Test motor: If you are qualified, apply the rated voltage (often 120 V or 230 V AC depending on region, or low-voltage DC on some models) directly to the motor leads to confirm operation. If the motor does not run or is noisy, replace it.
  • Step 6 – Replace parts: Install a new convection fan motor if defective. If the motor runs when powered directly but not during normal operation, the main control board fan driver is likely faulty and should be replaced.

Warning: Do not run the air fryer with a non-functioning fan; this can cause overheating and damage.
