Possible Causes

Blown internal fuse on control board, Open thermal fuse in line with heater, Failed power cord, Defective main control board power supply

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Verify the outlet is working with another appliance. Then unplug the air fryer before opening it.

Basic checks:

  • Confirm the outlet has power and that any GFCI or breaker has not tripped.
  • Inspect the power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.

Internal fuse and thermal fuse:

  • Remove the housing to access the main control board and wiring.
  • Locate the line fuse (often a glass or ceramic fuse on the board or in an inline holder). Test for continuity with a multimeter; replace with the same rating if open.
  • Locate any inline thermal fuse near the heater. Test continuity; if open, replace with a Whirlpool-specified thermal fuse of identical temperature and current rating.

Control board:

  • If fuses are good and power is present at the board input but no low-voltage output is generated, the control board power supply is likely failed and the board should be replaced.
