Possible Causes
Grease buildup on heating element and cavity walls, Food particles trapped near fan or heater, Foreign material (packaging, plastic) left inside, Electrical overheating at connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the unit off, unplug it, and open windows for ventilation. Allow it to cool completely.
Cleaning:
- Remove the basket and drawer. Clean them thoroughly with hot, soapy water.
- Wipe the interior cavity, heater shield, and around the fan with a non-abrasive sponge and degreaser safe for appliances. Do not spray directly onto electrical components.
- Check for any packaging materials, plastic, or paper that may have been left inside and remove them.
Electrical inspection:
- With the housing removed, inspect wiring connectors at the heater and control board for discoloration or melting. Replace any damaged connectors and, if necessary, the associated wiring harness.
Test: After cleaning and repairs, run the unit empty at a moderate temperature for 10–15 minutes to burn off any remaining residue while monitoring for smoke.
