Door alignment:

• Inspect the door or lid for visible warping or damage. Ensure the hinges are tight and the door closes evenly on both sides.
• Check the latch mechanism; tighten any loose screws and ensure the latch engages fully with the strike plate.

Sensor check:

• Locate the door-closed sensor or switch (often near the latch area).
• Manually actuate the switch and listen for a click. Test continuity with a multimeter; replace the switch if it fails to open/close electrically.
• Adjust the latch or strike so that the door fully depresses the switch when closed.

Note: Do not force the door closed if resistance is felt; identify and correct the obstruction first.
