Air fryer basket does not lock; unit shows basket-open warning or will not start.

Safety first: Unplug before internal inspection.

Steps:

• Clean latch area: Remove grease and crumbs from the front opening and latch surfaces.
• Inspect latch hook: Check the metal or plastic hook on the basket for wear or breakage.
• Check switch actuator: With the housing open, observe how the basket pushes the actuator that triggers the safety microswitch. Adjust the actuator position if necessary.

Replace the basket if the latch hook is damaged. Replace or reposition the safety microswitch and actuator if the switch is not being engaged when the basket is fully inserted.
