Possible Causes

NTC temperature sensor drifted out of spec,Sensor not properly attached to cavity wall,Grease buildup insulating sensor from hot air,Main control board ADC or calibration fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and let the air fryer cool completely before opening the housing.

Inspection steps:

  • Clean the cooking cavity: Heavy grease on the inner liner and sensor area can cause inaccurate readings. Remove the basket and drawer, then wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid soaking the heater or electronics.
  • Locate the NTC sensor: It is usually a small metal probe or bead sensor attached to the inner metal liner near the heater. Confirm it is firmly clipped or screwed in place and not hanging loose.
  • Check for contamination: If the sensor is covered in baked-on grease, gently clean it with a soft cloth and a bit of isopropyl alcohol. Do not bend or crush the sensor.
  • Check wiring and connector: Follow the sensor wires to the main control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and there are no cuts or burn marks on the cable.
  • Test with a thermometer (functional check): Reassemble, then run the air fryer at a known temperature (e.g., 180°C) with an oven thermometer inside. If the actual temperature is far from the set value and E3 appears, the sensor or board is likely faulty.

Corrective actions:

  • If the sensor is physically damaged or readings are unstable, replace the NTC temperature sensor probe.
  • If a new sensor does not resolve E3 or temperature instability, the main control board's measurement circuit may be defective and the board should be replaced.
