Ariston Air in System / Bypass Flow Noise

Boiler operates but makes a constant trickling or running water noise

Advertisements

Possible Causes

Air trapped in radiators or boiler, Automatic bypass valve set too high, High pump speed, Partially closed valves causing high velocity

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow system to cool before bleeding radiators.

  • Bleed system: Bleed all radiators and the pump (if possible) to remove air.
  • Check pressure: After bleeding, top up to 1.2–1.5 bar.
  • Adjust pump speed: If your Ariston pump has multiple speeds, try reducing the speed to minimise noise.
  • Bypass valve: An engineer can adjust the automatic bypass valve to reduce unnecessary flow noise.
