Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between PCB and display, Faulty control panel PCB, Moisture ingress into controls, Main PCB communication failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before removing the front panel or control fascia.
- Power cycle: Turn off the boiler at the fused spur for 30 seconds, then turn back on. This can clear temporary communication glitches.
- Inspect connections: Remove the front cover and carefully check the display ribbon cable and connectors between the main PCB and user interface. Reseat them firmly.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of water ingress around the control panel. If present, the source of the leak must be found and fixed, and the affected PCB may need replacement.
- Replace interface: If the display remains dead or erratic, a new Ariston user interface board may be required. This should be fitted by a competent person.
