Possible Causes
Failed DHW NTC sensor on Attack plate heat exchanger, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor cable, Fault on main PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close cold water inlet if working near DHW components.
Steps:
- Locate DHW NTC: On combi Attack boilers, the DHW NTC is usually clipped or screwed into the domestic hot water outlet or plate heat exchanger.
- Inspect wiring: Check the cable from the DHW NTC to the PCB for cuts, burns, or loose plugs. Reseat the connector.
- Check for scale: Heavy limescale on the plate heat exchanger can overheat the sensor. If the DHW side is very hot but flow is poor, descaling or replacing the plate heat exchanger may be necessary.
- Replace sensor: If accessible, remove the faulty NTC and install a genuine Attack DHW NTC sensor, ensuring proper sealing.
Professional help: If E06 persists after sensor replacement, the PCB may be defective and should be tested by a technician.
