Possible Causes
Hidden leak in heating circuit, Leaking pressure relief valve, Failed expansion vessel, Micro-leaks on Biasi manifold or heat exchanger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly overfill the system above the recommended pressure; this can damage components.
- Check visible pipework: Inspect all radiators, valves, and joints for signs of dampness or staining.
- Monitor PRV discharge: Place a plastic bag or container under the outside discharge pipe to see if water is escaping when the boiler runs.
- Note pressure pattern: If pressure rises very high when hot then drops to zero when cold, the expansion vessel is likely faulty.
- Engineer diagnosis: A technician can pressure-test the system, check the expansion vessel charge, and replace a passing PRV or repair leaks.
