Possible Causes

Condensate pipe run externally for long distance, Insufficient pipe insulation, Pipe diameter too small, Poor fall leading to standing water

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not use boiling water on plastic pipes; they can deform or split.

  • Locate frozen section: Feel along the external condensate pipe for very cold, solid sections.
  • Thaw gently: Pour warm (not boiling) water over the frozen section or use warm towels to thaw the ice.
  • Reset boiler: Once thawed, reset the Biasi boiler and check for normal operation.
  • Improve insulation: Lag the external pipe with suitable weatherproof insulation and, if possible, increase the pipe diameter and reduce external run length. An engineer can reroute the pipe if needed.
