Possible Causes
Leaking pressure relief valve, Corroded heat exchanger, Loose union or gasket on Crown manifold, Cracked condensate trap or tubing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close the water supply to the boiler. Hot water can cause burns.
- Identify source: Remove the front panel and use a flashlight to trace the leak. Look at the relief valve discharge pipe, pump flanges, manifold unions, and condensate trap.
- Check pressure: If the pressure gauge is above 25–30 psi and the relief valve is dripping, the expansion tank or fill valve may be faulty.
- Tighten fittings: Gently tighten accessible unions and threaded connections that are seeping. Do not overtighten plastic parts.
- Condensate leaks: Inspect the condensate trap and tubing for cracks or loose connections. Replace damaged tubing and reseat the trap.
- Heat exchanger leak: If water appears to come from the heat exchanger body, shut the boiler down and call a technician; the exchanger may need replacement.
